V-RAY 5 UPGRADE POLICY

V-Ray 5 for Maya, coming at the end of July, is part of the recently introduced V-Ray Collection, which gives users access to a number of products and services in the Chaos Group portfolio without the need for multiple licenses.

After the official release of V-Ray 5, upgrades from V-Ray 3 workstation licenses will not be possible. Upgrades from V-Ray 3 Render Node licenses to V-Ray Next Render Node licenses will be available until September 30, 2020.

Through the end of July, V-Ray 3 for Maya customers can upgrade their workstation licenses to V-Ray Next and keep the option to upgrade to V-Ray 5 at a later date.

RENDER NODE PACKS

Just like with V-Ray for 3ds Max, V-Ray for Maya users can take advantage of rendering on multiple machines via predefined Render Node license packs with integrated discounts. All purchases of new perpetual licenses for V-Ray for Maya and V-Ray Render Node made between June 11, 2020, and the official release will be upgraded free of charge.

If you’re wondering if you need to wait until the official release to purchase a new license, all purchases of new perpetual licenses for V-Ray for Maya and V-Ray Render Node made between June 11, 2020, and the official release will be upgraded free of charge.

Please note that upgrade purchases will not be eligible for a free upgrade; upgrading to V-Ray Next will not provide you with free access to V-Ray 5.

All annual, monthly, and Education licenses active at the time of the official release will also receive V-Ray 5 for Maya as part of their term license benefits.

*After the official release of V-Ray 5, upgrades from V-Ray 3 workstation licenses will not be possible.

*Upgrades from V-Ray 3 Render Node licenses to V-Ray Next Render Node licenses will be available until September 30, 2020.
