Founded by music industry legends Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Peter Gabriel) and Garth Richardson (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine, Rise Against, Biffy Clyro), Nimbus is committed to teaching the next generation of producers, engineers and sound designers the same skills and disciplines the founders learned when they started their careers.

“All of our classrooms are studios — it’s important that we have the latest state-of-the-art equipment for our students to be competitive in the modern workflows and workplace” says Producer and Nimbus co-founder, GGGarth Richardson. “When Avid demoed the S6 for me at NAMM, I realized that it really puts Pro Tools onto the console in an ergonomic way. It’s important for engineers to get back to using their ears and their hands, and not their eyes on the computer screen”.

“The S6 really impressed me with how everything I needed to see and get at was at my fingertips – I didn’t need to look at the computer screen”.

“The Avid S6 is the perfect addition to our school” says Nimbus co-founder Bob Ezrin. “Our students have to learn everything, from cable wrapping to signal flow, vintage consoles, analog tape, Pro Tools 11, and now the S6. Nimbus students have 24×7 access to the Nimbus studios, putting into practice the lessons learned from instructors during the day”.

“We want to make sure our graduates are industry ready for whatever career they want to pursue in the modern media industry,” Ezrin elaborates. “Training our students on the S6 is critical to prepare them for the future”.

“Nimbus has always been atthe forefront when it comes to the latest technology,” adds David Casey, Partner Account Manager at Avid.

“Two years ago, Nimbus was the first in Western Canada to upgrade their entire school to Pro Tools 10 and HDX. When the S6 was announced they were the first to call and were the first school in Canada to install”.

Bryon Low of Annex Pro, the Avid reseller who helped put the deal together says, “Nimbus jumped into HDX two years ago as the earliest adopters in Western Canada. When the S6 was announced they were the first to call me to place an order knowing that this was the right next step for them to say on the cutting edge. I have been in pro audio for over thirty years, so I know when it’s working or not. They are doing what they need to do to be ahead of the curve — Nimbus is onto something”.
