Whilst cloud services provide many benefits for broadcast and media workflows, they also bring with them a new set of commercial and technical challenges. An example of this is Avid | Edit On Demand, which enables editing in the cloud via a subscription but is only available on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. This limits flexibility for clients, who may already have other ingest or archive solutions, or may even just want to expand their office-based Avid | NEXIS systems into the cloud for peak editing periods.
